RELATIVE CLAUSES

Relative clauses are clauses starting with the relative pronouns who, that, which, whose, where, when. They are most often used to define or identify the noun that precedes them:

Las cláusulas relativas son cláusulas que comienzan con los pronombres relativos who , that, which, which, where, when. Se usan con mayor frecuencia para definir o identificar el sustantivo que los precede:

EXAMPLES: 
Do you know the girl who started in grade 7 last week?
¿Conoces a la chica que comenzó en séptimo grado la semana pasada?
Can I have the pencil that I gave you this morning?
¿Puedo tener el lápiz que te di esta mañana?
I want to live in a place where there is lots to do.
Quiero vivir en un lugar donde hay mucho que hacer.
Yesterday was a day when everything went wrong!
¡Ayer fue un día en que todo salió mal!

Relative pronouns are associated as follows with their preceding noun:
Los pronombres relativos se asocian de la siguiente manera con su sustantivo anterior:
